Working from the outside in for a more accessible Zuidasdok

Hans van Zijst , together with his stakeholder manager colleague, ensure that work is done from the outside in, with due regard for the interests of very diverse organizations and residents.

The Zuidas in Amsterdam is rapidly developing into a new city district of Amsterdam with a high-density urban mix of apartment buildings and headquarters of leading service companies. To enable these developments, significant investments are also being made in the area's accessibility, both by car and by public transport (train, metro, tram, and bus). By placing the A10 Zuid in underground tunnels, space is created above ground to accommodate more tracks and wider platforms. The Zuidasdok project will realize this task.

Both the Zuidas Department of the City of Amsterdam and the Zuidasdok project organization employ their own stakeholder managers. Since January 1, 2016, Hans van Zijst has served as the strategic stakeholder engagement professional, working with these colleagues to implement a consistent approach. The team works from the outside in, keeping a close eye on the interests of a wide variety of organizations and residents. It also serves as an interface manager between the two organizations in the event of conflicting interests between urban development and the realization of the Zuidasdok.
