Janneke enjoys arranging and organizing, and ensures that the training sessions are meticulously prepared.
What did you do before you came to WesselinkVanZijst?
In 1986, at the age of 20, I started as a secretary at Volmac, which is now Capgemini. There, I was rigorously trained to work with dedication and precision. For example, you were never allowed to leave your (landline) phone unless a colleague was nearby to take over for you. During my 12.5 years there, I held various support roles, primarily within the Government sector.
After that, I worked for several years at Rabofacet, the facility company of Rabobank. There I worked in the department that handled intranets for the local banks. When my manager left and started his own company, and then called me a year later asking if I would join him, I switched to his marketing company, Share of Mind. Funny detail: that's also abbreviated as SOM! I worked there for over 8 years and then another 3 years at a different marketing company. In October 2012, I started as Office Manager at WesselinkVanZijst. I was the second employee to be hired there.
What do you mainly focus on at WesselinkVanZijst?
My responsibilities are very diverse. I spend part of my time supporting Marc Wesselink. I read and process his emails and manage his calendar. As a member of the management team, I (co-)prepare the agenda for meetings and report on the topics discussed. Furthermore, I participate substantively in the topics being discussed.
On HR-related topics, I support management and Mart. For the SOM Professional training, which we organize twice a year, I organize and coordinate all activities. And if there are special events organized for our team or for clients, I am happy to contribute.
What drives you in your work?
In my work, I find it important that things are handled accurately and quickly. I carry out my tasks for colleagues and clients as I would like to be treated myself. Together with my colleagues from the secretariat, we are committed to unburdening our trainers and advisors as much as possible.
What do you like to do most when you're not at work?
For 6 years, I've been taking a weekly drawing and painting class. I prefer drawing portraits, but sometimes it's also fun to work on different kinds of assignments outside my comfort zone. I also enjoy reading thrillers, going for bike rides, binge-watching series, and I love trivia games.
