What did you do before you came to WesselinkVanZijst?

In 1985, I started as an administrative assistant at Volmac Toptraining in Utrecht. After also working in that capacity for Volmac Belgium in Antwerp for three years, I was a recruitment consultant for Randstad in Amsterdam and a project manager at the field research organization Mobiel Center in Utrecht.

After eight years, it was time for a change: from 1993 onwards, I entered the hospitality industry. First at Eetcafé de Vingerhoed in Utrecht, then at zalencentrum Maresca in Utrecht, and gradually to restaurant Galg & Waard in the stadium of FC Utrecht: all part of the same family business.

In 2011, I took over Beukenrode Conference Center in Doorn, a beautiful venue for business meetings and private parties and events. In all these hospitality activities, I found the perfect combination of numbers and people, which I found delightful. My motto is therefore: numbers make me happy, people make me joyful.

What do you mainly focus on at WesselinkVanZijst?

My daily tasks primarily involve preparing our financial administration. I ensure that projects (training and consulting) are set up and maintained. Additionally, I support the trainers and consultants and monitor the work processes. The output of all this data serves as management information.

In addition, as the secretariat team, we receive our guests and keep the office pleasant. We do this, among other things, by arranging lunch and organizing several team outings throughout the year.

What drives you in your work?

I find satisfaction in having all the administration in order. Think of invoices that are paid and sent on time. In my own way, I hope to contribute to the vision and ambition of WesselinkVanZijst.

What do you like to do most when you're not at work?

Besides work, I enjoy being with and around family, children, grandchildren, and friends. And if there's still time left, I like to go for walks or be found at the gym.
